  • where can i get compass warp 360 upgrades

I see Hawk-RC in the USA does some nice upgrade components for the warp.
Does anyone in the UK stock them or do I have to order from the USA.
Does anyone else make aftermarket parts for the Warp too?

    Cheers

Stores in the UK, Fast-Lads, WestonUK.

Other stores like RigidHeli and ProStarHobby will most likely sell upgrades.

Weston only seem to do standard parts.
Fast lads only do a handful of upgrade parts and none are relevant to what I want.

The tail seems to be made out of plastersine, especially the original blades. I am sure a decent rigid set of tail blades will sort out all the issues but I did like the look of the aluminium tail grips that Hawk RC made and simply wondered if I could get them in the UK instead of import them.

Don't bother with the ali tail grips, waste of time and money. The delrin ones are fine, not too mention very tough!

The only upgrade worth doing on the warp ( if yours didn't come with them ) is the metal side plates for flange bearings
              Bottom right warp 360 parts

As for tail blades, the ones that came in the kit are rubbish, more a token gesture and something compass do with all their kits, best to give them to someone who plays a guitar..

Cheers Heathy, won't bother with the tail grips.
Yeah not sure why they include the guitar picks.

Why do you advise the metal tail plates?

Has yours got the CF ones? After lots of use the CF can become worn causing the flange bearing to become loose. Very unlikely but can happen especially if you didn't glue them in properly when built. I've only just changed mine after 13 months and they were fine. For the sake of a few ££ it's worth doing. ( you still need to stick the bearing as with all flange bearings.)

Most important on all compass tails is to make sure the cup & ball is moving freely, which can be done with a link reamer and the links to grips move freely. Again ream them to suit.

Easy way is to do it all with tail apart to check links on balls. Once reassembled unhook the tail control rod and move pitch slider by hand checking for binding. Should be silky smooth.

                      Hi Reggie,

The stock mains are fine, could do with white tips mind.. I've been using edge 353's since day 1 and soon to go to Halo 360's as soon as available.

Spin also do red tips in 350mm

Just get some decent tail blades. Mines still as the v1 and flys great but wouldn't mind getting the 19t tail pully to get the gain higher. Rc711 are also good for parts.

Yeah mine is on the CF tail plates. I will replace with metal in due time.
I will try the tail blades from my old 450 pro next time I fly, they are the KBDD plastic ones but they are a lot stiffer than stock.
I will tag some CF ones onto my next heli order.

Boy did the tail oscillate on the chocolate ones, had the gain on the tail gyro so low I might as well of turned it off.

I tried the rc hawk upgrades. Expensive waste of money. The tail disc is much smaller and you lose tail authority. Also the pitch slider is really not much better and it isn't compatible with the standard parts.

Unfortunately the tail is the Achilles heel of the warp and will always be tricky to get right. I have replaced all parts trying to get it sorted. Maybe I need to try a different tail pinion for the higher head speed.

Has anyone tried 68mm blades instead of the standard 60mm tail blades?
