  • RC Apps

I recently switch from iOS to Android and have seen some RC apps that may be useful. Just wondering if anyone has used any of them?

I spotted one for tracking flights and lipo usage. I must confess that I don't not formally record pack discharges and number of flights yet. Is this something I really should be doing and do any of you use phone apps to track this stuff? Up to now I've used the chargers to determine the state of the packs.

Also spotted a head speed calculator app which takes your motor specs, pinion, and gears and calculates the expected head speed. Thoughts on this?

Finally, I've also seen some phone based tachs that seem to get fairly good reviews (using sound to measure the head speed)

Interested in knowing what Android apps people have found to be useful.

Yes, those were the two apps that I had been looking at. They both seem good based on reviews

The head speed tach works shockingly well ...
Tried it at our field .... we had the iPhone and android versions + an optical tach .... all were within about 10rpm of each other

Haven't tried it with Nitro as it requires more info which we didn't have at the time but for electrics they're spot on

That sounds promising. It seems you need to give it a rough ball park figure to work with. Do you use a head speed calculating app to work out an expected speed?
