  • Actually enjoying flying despite the weather!!

Well despite all the wind and rain we are having lately I have been doggedly heading out to go flying! Yesterday I sat in the car and dived out in between showers!

I have to say I am starting to get very comfortable flying in these 20-30mph winds too, it's certainly taught me a thing or two about managing the collective so I no longer gain 30ft everytime I make a downwind turn!

I have been practicing doing nice big loops and trying to keep the rolls axial (thanks to the advice on here!) and have actually been stringing moves together!

My current favourite is to fly forward, do a 180 so I am flying backwards, backflip out of this and fly forwards the opposite way and and with a nice big stall turn with a pirrouette thrown in!

Ok so it's fairly basic sport flying but it feels fantastic and the 550 is brushing the wind off like it's not even there whilst making the most mental noise from the tail that reverberates around the air on the wind!

Absoloutely loving flying helis right now and the wind is only serving to improve my skills! So if any of you are sitting home thinking it's too windy just get out there!!

You are right, I have been itching to fly as well. Not been flying since November. Too many chores and work to do at the moment. Friday looks to be decent so crossed my fingers the weather holds and Im outside flying for the first time this year.
