  • Advice for my 6 year old

Guys, I am looking for a bit of advice for my 6 year old who has just shown an interest in helicopters, I haven't flown or owned anything for nearly 2 years, so was wondering what's the best thing for him to do, I am guessing play around on the sim and some cheaper 4ch heli?

Anyway, what are your recommendations? May be a chance for me to get back into it too
    Kev

    Sim, yes.

Depends on what you want to do but something like an Mcpx will be tough enough for both of you.
    Happy Landings.

Not as im aware, I think you still need dual boots and a windows option to run a sim on a Mac

Depends on the child, i tried both my boy's on the sim, and even thou they are x-box addict's, the 'scare' (respect) factor isnt there, and they just twat about!
My eldest (9), took to the msr really well, and i forced discipline on him, and hes now on 450's with a buddy lead, and progressing 1 million times faster than i did!
My youngest (7) is totally fearless, and not ready at all, although he flies the nano husban quads about really well, so i still have hope.
I can see my 9 year old soon to be 10, to be flying my 500 this summer of the lead.!
I think the real world.. i.e msr then msr-x is gives them the 'danger' aspect, therefore respect.

Heli-X works natively. Used it a lot before going the parallels route.

msrx (fixed pitch), mcpx (collective), or the other option (which I've just bought for my 7yo daughter) is a little quadcopter like the Nano-QX (this is what I got), or the Hubsan X4. All are Mode-2 so your littl'un can learn the controls safely. The Nano-QX quadcopter is fantastic for learning indoors too.

I was wondering about the quads, maybe a little easier to get the controls and muscle memory going etc...

Plus I want a quad ahaha
