  • 3D printing for those interested.

Just come across this on a Adventurebikerider, I know there's been a thread on 3d printing recently on here and this may be of interest to some.

Fantastic that - thanks, really good stuff.
Interesting the limitations of some of the processes - like the ink-jet depositing system - how could it 'print' a table? The legs are easy, but there is nothing on which to print the table-top..??
Loved the rub-down Letraset 3D at the end!!
So, when do we get this printing metal not plastic??

                Spectacular!

I have used SLA and SLS prototypes before and sort of understand the computing of the models before printing, but to see a model of that detail and accuracy is phenomenal.

                Great post, thanks

You don't need to print in metal. You print in wax and then cast in metal Using lost wax process. Been around for ten years in the jewellery industry.

How long before we all have access to 3D printers to print off our own heli parts?
                          Exciting times.

My brother has been using 3D printer for some time now & his latest project is building a Sub that works on & under water, and just does it from home.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.
