Since you mentioned 'something different'. I would be tempted to recommend the Compass 6HV but I'm not sure what's happening with Compass support from FL as I don't see them currently on the website and the new 6HV Ultimate is coming out. But if Fl is going to get behind it there's a lot going for it, light weight, simple sturdy design, low parts count. etc. I could say exactly the same for the Beam Avantgarde and I am equally uncertain of how well it will be supported but I love the way it looks, the way it flies and it was a joy to build.

Having just come back i've been reading up on the latest and greatest and haven't read anything bad about the TSA models and the KDS agile's...also seem to fit the bill of something a little different
But having not flown either i cannot comment personally...just what i've been reading

Will be keeping an eye in this thread to see others opinions
