Also agree 550 to 600 is sweet spot i think my Logo 600SX is my best all round model i currently have but i do have three 700 Electrics in my fleet and that size always wins for grin factor.

Electric does need investment for all day flying but i have high powered chargers,PSUs and a Honda EU10i genny so i can fly as much as i like any given day.

Every model size and power source has its plus and minus points in the end.

+1 except I prefer the 700's over any other size. My Agile 7.2 is my beater and sweet model. The 'sweet' size is totally a personal preference although many may find the smaller ones MOSTLY due to cost. I would imagine it will always come down to ones budget most of the time regardless of what reason they give

If you want to just fly without costing a small fortune a 50 nitro would be a great choice. It will do everything and be a great tool for advancing on.

        I own both, a 700n and a 700e]

700E - Awesome on power but i felt i wasn't getting enough flight time for new moves so i bought a nitro. You need to put a good amount of money into batteries (i'd say around 4 flight packs worth = 8 batteries) to make it worth while in between charging.

700N - I've only had 7 flights on my nitro so far however i do love the fact i can just refill the tank and i'm ready to go again within minutes. The flight times are much longer and it's easier to practice new moves. Personally i like the noise and i have no problems at my club with it touch wood so far so for now i'll be using my nitro as my practice machine and my electric as the fun mean machine. Fuel is just as expensive as packs in the long run (8 flights to a gallon) but it depends what you're looking for.

In the end i would suggest getting a 600 size nitro if you can't afford a 700 nitro size (they are usually 650-700 at the minute for a 700) and then get a 700E as well later on if funds allow. But based on your situation i'd suggest you go for the nitro unless you're happy with 4 minute flights to practice.

Power is less on nitro and it's quite noticeable however nitro teaches you collective so much! In my few flights on nitro it really does come clear how much you get away with on electric as the motor/esc just keeps giving you power however on the nitro you bog and learn much better so it's swings and roundabouts

Hope that sort of helps in some way!

I guess this one is not easily solved.....lol

maybe technology will resolve it, I guess the leccy will prevail in the long term so maybe I'll have to get a nitro while I still can..lol

Over the last couple of years I don't think alot has changed visibly for the end user. A couple of new packs have come out but physical size and capacity look similar to all other packs.

What we are waiting for is a step change where the capacity is increased but everything else stays the same.

From what I have read lipo are pretty much at the end of their development. We need the next step in technology like nicad to NiMH and NiMH to lipo

There's talk of lithium-air and carbon nano tubes but none of it will be available for 5+ years.

Until then we are going to be stuck with 4min flights
