  • Spool up wobble

    My 450 rex (se v2) has just had a bit of a fix and now it does somthing it didnt do before !

    Violent shakes during spool up / down.

    Head is balanced.
    Main shaft is true (and new)
    Feathering shaft is true (also new)
    Dampers are new.
    baerings are all ok
    Swash has a small ammount of slop (up and down)
    Blades are cheep ones but they are balanced...

    any Ideas

    I've been having exactly the same problems. I'm going to get a new rotor housing assembly tomorrow to see if that cures it. I don't know if I'm imagining it but on closer inspection, it does look slighly bent.

    Will let you know if this fixes it for me. If so, maybe you have the same.

      I may have found it.... I got about a quater turn on the servo arm retaining screws on the cyclic. it has improved loads... I thaught it was play in the swash because the bearing has a tiny ammount of movement in it but maybe not....

        Make sure that you have not done the blade bolts up to tight as if they are not perfectly in align on spool up they will cause violent shaking until they are forced straight by centrafugal force, they only need to be a bit out for this to happen, The tighter the bolts, the longer the shakes will take to clear.
