  • Hubsan X4 for Christmas

    Hi Guys.

So my girlfriend bought be a Hubsan X4 for Christmas.

All i can say is wow, this little thing is awesome.

For those considering a beginner quad then this is most definatly the one to get. It has a beginner and expert mode and can seriously take a beating.

Im not too bad at flying but my friends who have had a go have had it bouncing off the walls and it just keeps going, i like that you can buy spare batteries and blades etc for it too.

Bit of a random post but i just had to tell everyone lol.

Had an X4 for myself for a while.. really good fun, takes a bashing and is really cheap compared to all our other rc gear!

The Hubsan x4 is an awesome little quad! And mine flies even better now after I did the gyro recalibration that Made2fade posted about on here. It flies even more stable now! Fast little thing aswell once it gets going and I've even had mine outside and it even handles well in a slight wind. Takes a bashing too and the spare parts are cheap as chips for it. I just wish I could bind it to my own transmitter as I find the one it comes with a little small for my hands as it's a Playstation type of controller.
          Have fun!
          Cheers,
          Grant.

do you still have to do the gyro calibration on the newer models? I thought it was just an issue with the first ones. The new "upgraded" type with the led's and rubber feet are calibrated from the factory now. Hubsan decided it was better for them to do it at the factory than us to have to trawl the internet to find out how to make the quad fly right.

Ive seen some done and some not. I think the early led ones were not done initially. The newer batch ones were however.

The gyro calibration in the link posted is now documented in the paperwork you get with the quad. You have to do the calibration on a flat level surface.
I can get my quad to pretty much hover in the same place quite easily.

Was playing with expert mode yesterday, i love the way you can do 360 flips with this.
