simple question. after setting the ail-limit and elv-limit in the dir setup should it still exceed the limits when its on the ground with full input. limit of throw are set to where there is no binding in my tx mix ratios as per instuction. when i put full input in with 3gx enable the pass the limits of the tx. thanks

If you look in the 3GX software in the "Flight Mode Settings" tab there is are two sections on Elevator/Aileron End Point settings, I believe this is where you set the mechanical end points to prevent binding.

Sorry I don't quite fully understand what the question is?

Yes it should. When you set it up in DIR, you should be setting ail and ele limits to 8 deg. When you come out you can control the final throw through endpoint adjustment. I think stock is 50% extra, so 12deg.

            Hey.

            Yes, it's normal behaviour.
As above outside of DIR you will see a lot more travel movement as the gyros are rate demand and so pilot stick inputs command a specific rate of rotation and the FBL controller inputs the required amount of cyclic pitch it needs to fulfill the pilot request.
In DIR mode you're letting the 3GX know where 8 degrees is in the travel scale. Then outside of it the overall travel limit sliders avoid any mechanical binding in the system.
