  • Align 2 in 1

    All,

Tempted to get an align 2 in 1 regulator and li-po

But I have read where these.... have wires come loose etc....

Is it okay to mix some expoxy and just put it into the align 2 in 1 at each end and help hold the wires into place ?

Also RX li-po what size do you recomend for a 90 size machine ?

(Actually for my pred gasser but not using the Glow part I will isolate it)

On the early heatshrink versions they sometimes came loose. I siliconed mine at both ends. The new version is plastic cased wiv likkle rubber cable boots.

The problems affected the early 2 in 1 regulators which had shrink wrap covering on both the main unit and the satellite, the current unit has both fully enclosed and doesn't need these precautions.

on my raptor I use a pair of 1500 2 cell lipos connected as 2s2p from here These last upwards of 8 flights.

On mky 600n I use the 1900 align one and swap with an identical spare after 3 flights. I might connect the two as above and they will last ages but I may as well fly with less weight on the heli.

Of course these are 50 not 90 size machines. The 2 in 1 is rated at 6A and has only one power lead to powere everything from. More expensive regs have double cables. Each servo plug is only rated at 3A.

Its the glow function that sells this reg for me. There are probably better solutions if you don't want the glow function - but I think all are more expensive.

If oyu use the align load up your servos in a ground test and give it a workout. Its align electronics so you can never be sure it wont have an infant mortality.

Someone needs to make a top notch reg with the glow function please - is anyone listening?

I have never had any problems with the Fromeco reg. On a 90 size/gasser you would want atleast 4000mah this should give you 6-7 flights.

I use a Duralite Reg and FlightPower 2S1P 1200mAh Packs, but this is on my T-Rex 600E.

IF you are only getting 4 flights out of 4000 mAh on the gasser then you probably want a higher rated reg than the align 2 in 1.

Actually with the trex700 on the way I predict an uprated 2in1 version soon...
Though maybe your flights are 30 minutes long on petrol, so the current draw isn't that high

I think an align 2 in 1 at 6v should be fine for what I need it for.

I was concerned about the one's I had heard about failing. Looks like a 3000ma + battery needed as well.

So looked around and Futaba 3050 servos on 6v are 6.6KG rated so 3 of them on the CCPM a 3152 on throttle and then just waiting to see if I can get a Gyro for the right money.
