I didn't realise until this morning how much ive missed that excitement of building a new kit. ive been in the hobby now a reasonable time and ive built alot of helis over that period, but I dont think ive built a single new heli in the last year. ive setup 2nd hand and ive definitely repaired them, but building a new kit is for sure a different experience.

I actually got up early this morning so I would tinker with my new kit and ended up building the head up.

anyone else re-discovered anything in the hobby you have not done in awhile and missed?
    All the best

Hoping to find the excitement again once my E700 decides to turn up, due to work & life I have not had any major time to get down the field for the last 6 - 10 months so hoping once I get this build under way I will find the passion again...

I love to build new kits, I'd do it for a living if it was an option. There is nothing like cracking the seal on a big, new, shiny box and seeing the factory fresh goodness inside. I found the G4 a joy to build although I found my Raptor 50V2 a joy to build too so I'm not very refined! I'm sure from the reviews the E700 will be even better.

The other thing that really gets my juices going when not flying, is when setting up a new, initially daunting piece of electronics i.e. a new FBL unit or Tx/Rx that you have been a bit scared of, lol in my case anyway, and you get that lightbulb that comes on and it all makes sense and you wonder why you were ever worried and why it ever seemed so complicated in the first place lol, that feeling is wicked. The knowing that the maiden will be coming soon makes it even better.

I'm currently in the middle of swapping my models over to jr after using futaba for 18years, its intresting, I've done loads of futaba setups and a few spektrum but never any JR sets.

Not to difficult once I'd read the manual a couple of times. Just some test flying to do now.

I love building them too. I'm buying Stu's G4 and I'll be stripping it right back to kit form so that I can rebuild it myself.

                  Something like that...

Nah I just like building them. Never owned a TT model before and always like to build them myself so I know the design and mechanics.

Any tips for the G4 build?

I was thinking of getting the xg14, got an xg8 and updated firmware so I can sbus, so in no way do I need the xg14 but I really, really want it if only for the gimbals which my skill level really won't make use of yet still I yearn for one

I love building a new kit too, unfortunately I cant really do it too often lol. I cant justify having masses of helis or changing them all the time, I only put in about 200 flights a year.
