  • Need a new air frame? 600 size nitro what shal i go for

iv got a max budget of around 200 so id prefer second hand as im going to need to get at least one cylic servo aswell. i would like to go to FBL is the 3gx any good at £45 BNIB

I crashed the 600n today and im weighing up just getting a new air frame or repairing

    its bust
    the frame both sides
    base plate
    tail boom
    tail shaft
    feathering shaft
    blades and tail
    skids
    loads of linkages

one of the cylics (i think this caused the crash as it droped to that side and i couldn't recover)
and probably other bits iv not noticed it didn't hit very hard it just went in on the slosh on the front of the skid on other side to the exhaust

Personally id upgrade your 600 to fbl. The 3gx on my 450 seems to work reasonably well, but I know others have had problems on bigger helis.
Also you will have to upgrade the voltage regulator as the Align 2 in 1 isnt good enough for flybarless.
Some say my left nipple is the shape of a Raptor canopy.......... And that for fun I chase sheep in wellies 3 sizes too big. All I know is I am 3D Clod

I have a Synergy N5c (FBL) airframe that you could have for £200
Your servo could just have stripped gears worth having a look before you bin it, gears are cheaper than servos.
The N5 has a mini Throttle servo I'll throw that in as well.
      PM me if your intersted

        Shameless plug alert:
I do have an Ely.Q Ultimate, hardly flown, bought as a spare ages ago and now I just have too many helis. I know it's a heli that folks like to hate but mine flew quite nicely and I never had any problems. I'd sell it cheap, like mega cheap, ever so totally cheap

Itaylor88 sorry to hear about your crash, it's always a horrible sounding thud when a big bird goes in.

Anyway I know you said you have a budget of 200 quid and have probably looked at the new 600DFC nitro but if you could stretch to one (kit only approx £330) and add a beastx you would be very happy.

My old 600LE has been upgraded overtime to the current DFC spec and it is my favourite, but I would of saved a heap of cash if I just brought the current kit.

the servo is toast it ripped the lid off. the reason I think it was the servo is its that side it went down on and before the crash i had started her up in idle up and quickly flicked it off but it had chance to smack me in the ribs with the blades lol any way i checked it all over and all seamed fine so i took it back up it had a very slight lean to the right which was new but i thought it had just tweaked a linkage of something but i recon it had cracked the servo lid. then two minute later it suddenly lost lift and leaned the opposite way to what i was telling it and slowly descended in to the ground i cant really remeber exactly what happened now it just seemed to float down and i was to late hitting TH

my cylic servos are spectrum DS821. i just read this looking for a replacement(they where in it when i got it)

                "
The DS821 servo is a powerful, accurate sport digital servo recommended for RC airplane applications up to 1.20-size. For helicopters, the DS821 operates best with 30-size glow models, and up to 50-size electric. Loads and vibration in larger models may cause premature failure of the servo resulting in damage or injury to property and persons."

proberly ok ok for throttle servo, if you were desperate. I wouldn't use in something valuable imo

Another problem I remember hearing about with those servos was the shaft that holds the servo wheel shearing off. I would go with something like Align DS610s or 620s for a set of inexpensive swash servos that are reasonably capable.

Well, man, like dude, it does sound like the 600 is mostly toast, so we're just trying to offer inexpensive alternatives and help a bro out, ya know.

To be honest , I would stick with the trex over the elyq or outrage, as you can keep and use what is salvageable if you get another airframe or repair. And spares are plentiful.
