  • Electric motor comparison charts/web sites

    As per the title, does anyone know of one or more web sites or downloadable resources where I could do comparisons of motor power, Kv, current draw, etc. easily?

    For example, I have a Scorpion HKIII-4020-1100 and want to see what comparable motors different manufacturers have without trying to decypher the individual companies model numbering or trawling through data sheets.

    I dont know of any reliable sources im afraid.

    Even if there was a list of manufacturers specs, this wouldnt really tell the whole story, as so much is dependent on the remainder of your setup, and would rely on the manufacturers producing data based on real use rather than an artificial test setup.

    Kv, or kv or KV depending on how you want to write it is probably the only real meaningful number when it comes to comparing brand with brand, and even that is 'off' quite a lot of the time.

      You could try eCalc - heliCalc - the most reliable RC Calculator on the Web
      I don't know how current it is, although your motor is listed

          You misunderstand guys. Or I didn't explain myself properly so I'll try with an example;

          I've got a LOGO 600 with a Scorpion 4035-560 in it. The motor has just killed itself and I need to replace it but I don't particularly want to replace it with another 4035-560. Rather than going to the Scorpion site and checking the specs for the 4035-560 then trawling through all the other manufacturers and web shop sites trying to find motors with the same or similar specs, I'd like to just go to an on-line resource that has already got the info. In fact the same kind of thing for servos would be great as well.

          Anything like that that anyone knows of?

            There isnt. and as I explained its not as straightforward as just reading off the numbers and making your decision based on them, as on Amp rating isnt the same as the next, nor is the Wattage e.t.c.

            What is wrong with your motor that it has killed itself?

              OK, I give in.

              Nothing is wrong with any of my motors. I don't own a LOGO 600 nor do I own a Scorpion 4035-560. It was an example situation.

              I'm closing the thread.
