that all depends on how much you want to spend,i would go for the HIROBO XRB LAMA, 275 without tx.

If you are really serious about learning to fly R/C heli's, in my opinion, electric is not the best way to start .

The lama is nice and stable, but does not need a lot of skill to fly.

If you really want to go electric, the twister or hummingbird are pretty good heli's that can take a lot of punishment, but are harder to fly than the larger models. You could also look at the zoom or trex 450. However when you consider the cost factor, you could buy a decent .30 size model. That's the route I would take.

          Hi

          I agree with the above.

You can buy fairly cheap Nitro .30's (Shuttle, Hawk etc) and unless you really only want to fly indoors, Nitro is the route I would suggest.

          Only my opinion.

          Hope this helps.

          Cheers

I've got a Lama for indoors, a trex for the back garden and shuttle for the flying field. Seems to be a great combo in my opinion

One of our members used an eco 8 to learn with. After spending 's on extra battery packs, he eventually hooked the heli up to a 75A car battery with a tether. Granted it got him to through hovering, but the initial costs were greater than if he had started with and i.c. model and his repair costs were on par. He now flies a hawk sport.

Electrics are nice for indoors or the back garden, but they are harder to fly. Good for a second model.

get yourself a Caliber 30, Raptor 30 or Hawk 30 all are very much well known and reasonable price.

I would also goto your local club and see what they are flying.
                  Cheers

I picked up my Shuttle with Irvine .30 with FF7 for 250 secondhand and spent 150 on bits to get it to fly
