Mine also came with just the anti-rotation ball... I pulled the other ball from an old 700 swash I had in a drawer.
The hole for the mainshaft isn't drilled through all the way but the mainshaft sits in as far as it needs to, so I see no point drilling away the little bit that's left, unless you want to shave off a gram of weight.
The machining is very good but one thing I did have to laugh at... the turnbuckles have a right-hand thread on each end, instead of a right and a left... makes it kinda pointless.
