  • calculating low head speeds

Mr mels head speed calc only lists throttle % down to about 60% when doing calculations based on jive/jazz mode 4

Is there any way to see a full scope of head speeds (E.g what I'd get at 30% throttle etc?)

Its a 120HV so low throttle % should be ok...

Just looked at mr mels calc for my synergy and all results seemed to follow a pattern for every 5% drop, i.e 68/69 RPM/5% drop in throttle curve. Not the most scientific way of finding out I will admit, but it will give you a fairly close number. I normally(with Vbar gov) plug my heli into software prog and change the throttle curve on my Tx and see what requested RPM comes up as. I'm quite sure the more learned than me(not hard) will be able to give you the equation, but for the meantime, try the above .

I found once I got below 60% on my helijive the head speed started to drop off fast for every percent I reduced it. Below 50% and it drops very fast. The only way is with a Tacho or telemetry module of some sort.

Yeah I remember reading somewhere that below 55% it just isn't accurately calculatable.

Mode 6 on Helijive can run below 50% with ease but only on Helijive !

Any Jive can go down to 13% it will cut off at 12 % I've got 13% on my helijive and on a 80HV both work really well.

mine wont spin the motor under 25% but thats no problem for me, 25% was 1200Rpm on a 13T pinion, im going to a 15T now so wanted to do some calculations on what to expect!

                1200 divided by 13 times 15?

                Or is that too simplistic?
