  • Cheshire Hell-E-Cats Open Scale Day

    Was asked if I would attend and fly a demo flight at this event today, Only too glad to oblige.

    First time ever at a Scale flyin for me, Really impressed with these fantastic models, Took the camera and got some pictures.

            Steven Gerrard trying some 115mm blades on the tail, Little too much authority and stripped the front tail drive gear hence losing the tail and it going in gently.

                      a true gent, a great pilot and good with a camera
                      it was very nice to meet you today


                      milly the bell 47 is 1/4 scale with a 2.36m rotor disc
                      powered by a 29cc 2 stroke petrol engine
                      Hirobo Turbulence D3
                      a bunch of bls servo's and a 701 gyro
                      Powered by an OS91 hz and a MP2
                      Winner of the LHC Scale Cup 2011

                      1/4 scale Vario Bell 47 G3
                      1/3 scale Vario R22
                      2012 LHC Scale Cup Judge

                        That Bell 47 just blew me away the size of it, I have never personally seen a model that big before and it flew beautifully.

                          having been around the scale circuit for a while the bell 47 is of a normal size
                          although the scale models are slowly getting bigger

                          the problems you have with them are storage, moving them around compared to the average sized pod and boom heli

                            I never saw what you transport them in Dave, Do you dismantle them a little to travel or have you a large van.?

                              the boom will remove from the model but i don't remove it
                              it will fit into a mondeo estate fuilt up with the tail stick out near the gearstick
                              but i move the bell 47 and r22 around in a transit van
