Three lots o' them too..
My 700N sat on the bench being tested for weeks after it stopped initialising consistently but had flown perfectly the day i spotted that problem. A new Rx plugged in finally solved the problem so you;ld think I could just go fly..
Day before yesterday i fired him up and the darn thing started shaking. It was simply a loose muffler which I tightened down. Fired it up again and more shakes 'cos the engine mount has loosened too and the blades were out of track! Back to the workshop. I sorted those simple things and took it out to fly today.. wouldn't start due to either the starter cup spinning or the one-way in the clutch failing..so got to be taken apart again..
From being perfect to sitting ona bench to multiple problems - daft!
600N day before yesterday flew a happy tank before the muffler loosened.. heck it's also got through bolts and nylocks and hasn't loosened in years...tightened it up and flew a couple of tanks all nice and happy engined. Today I take it out and it's seriously rich as in gurgling.. so OK perhaps that muffler had been a bit loose for a while so why wasn;t it rich 2 days ago after tightening down...ended up 1/4 turn leaner..
Blitz Avro. Last time out about 10 days ago it started rumbling on the end of the second tank and shaking at startup third tank... broken engine mount which i replaced last night and went over everything. No changes made to throttles or tuning but today it's way way lean..well outsie the range of it's carbsmart. Was pouring smoke at startups and easy flying but give it some beans and the trail dropped off and hot engine on landing. Ended up nearly half a turn more open than before.
So todays session was more about walking back and forth to my shed and field and tuning than any real flying..and not many of these nice days left now..
