well... the wire arrived yesterday, and I tested my first re-wind with 0.63mm diameter wire. This was never going to be the finished product but is easier to wind, and will let me test the KV.

Well - it works, kind of.... gets super hot with minimal use, so something isnt quite right....

Opened it back up and it was clear that two of the windings were either shorting, or I had wound them incorrectly. Its a nightmare trying to work out what goes in which direction after you have wound it, so off with the old and will give it another go this evening or tomorrow, still with the 0.63 wire as its cheaper to 'waste'

Well, only took 30 mins or so to rewind it... well an hour I guess

Much better. No smoke, not getting red hot, and giving me the calculated kv (between 460 and 510 depending on how you do the maths)
