My gov magnet fell out the other week i only noticed when i switched flight modes (gv1) in the hover any way i tweaked the throttle curves and off it flew and flew it did fine, i can do a few tricks and for my limited ability i can honestly say missing the gov had no effect at all once i'd tweaked the curves so i'm just wondering how far you can go before you need a gov, am i right in thinking a governer will not stop bogging and its just down to collective being aplied symphatheticaly?

Yes a governer is really a refinement and you can fly happily without it. Providing your curves are reasonably good it will be just fine...It will not expodeacate
If your flying involves 3D/loops/rolls. Running without a Gov normally benifits from adding Cyclic to throttle mixing for a 30/50 10-20% added in will help maintain a constant H/S under load.
The biggest downside of running without a Gov is you get a little overspeeding when you suddenly unload the rotor in decents etc. Also when you alter the engine mixture it also changes the H/S.
