20130916_162915.jpghi all I have no idea about electronics so need to brain pick those who do thanks

I have 2 step downs 1 align and 1 something else (was on a jr tail servo)will a 2s lipo kill these?

if not would it work if I used them both in line? could I then use a 6v servo with out destroying it? i.e drop the volts enough

    thanks again terry

Most if not all of the type of step you have pictured are designed for use with the Align regulators. The Align regulator is set to 5.8 volt output so the step shows 5.1 volts because it knocks 0.7 volts off the supply voltage. They are a diode in forward bias mode. If you connect two in series together the voltage drop will be 1.4 volts. I don't think a 6 volt servo will give its full expected life span when run at 7 volts.

hi andy cheers aslong as the diodes wont blow at 8.4v im sure servo will be fine as a lot use em on 8.4v anyways just wanted to give it a sporting chance lol was thinking either futaba bls 451 or mabe align 610 or 620 as I just cant afford another hv servo.

just sent 2 bl750h to robbe today but not holding breath and doubt they be back soon either

      cheers terry

Bls 451 will work on Hv, but align 610 will either take it or not, but will go pop quickly

The voltage isn't the problem. By the physical size of the diodes they look to be able to handle 3 or more amps. For a tail servo I would think that is plenty.

I was thinking of using the 451 because of this but thought the step down would help as it will be run as digital. they have been known to pop on fbl if freq is not altered but fine on fb. Its gonna be throttle servo on vx1

            cheers terry

agh awesome I use step downs to be safe then as there will be no load its gonna be throttle
