I was doing the PA, calling the demos and closing the flightline at the appropriate times.

There was a schedule to keep Saturday of all the demos, Everybody attending the flyin was privvy to this timetable. And it clearly stated on some demo flights which flight posts were to be closed and which to be left open. I attempted to keep that part of the event as close to schedule as possible.

If you have a problem with this then I suggest you take it up with Stuart and Lee.

And what about all the times I called for the pilots to be at the registration tent for 1:30 for the record attempt to still be calling for people to get to the registration at 2pm, Sauntering to registration like "Oh feck it ill go when im ready??"

Gratuitous lot you lot are arent ya............

Perhaps you should look at yerself and ask why I did what I did?? And how you would treat professional pilots there specifically to do demo flights at allotted times?

Some kind individual unplugged the top speaker, Dani Rose will confirm this, It was plugged back in from 1:30 and was last heard by myself before this at about 11.

Either way you werent happy with the job I did. Fair enough. Meh

Yeah. Someone did seemingly unplug the speaker at the top end of the field. I noticed it just coming off the flight line, plugged it back in and told Kev to repeat his last message to the crowd. Not sure how long it was like that.

Mistakes were definitely made this year but what matters is learning from them to make it better next year. I think some of the problem's might of been the mic seemed to be cutting in an out sometimes Kev rather than the actual volume level of the sound system.

Listen this was the first time we had to organise everything so a massive learning curve and we spent a good time discussing the various areas for improvement. Even in discussions with Nick and Matt last night at the hotel we got some good feedback on areas to work on. But we also on sunday had to content with a tv crew that effectively saved us £4,500 in fees and they were obsessed with wanting Nick and me to do things for the camera which personally i found extremely frustrating as i had a million other jobs to do.

Lets focus on the positives and not get personal. I am shattered.com so i am hitting hay..be good :-) please.
                        Cheers
                        Stuart

Yes i think we definately struggled with the PA this year. Not necessarily because of Kev though. However can i just say a this point guys....
Kev done this off his own back. Not one penny passed his hands and the equipment was purchased by himself. I know for a fact he would have had a hard job over that weekend. Stu and myself were so busy running around doing this and that.
I think we will definately invest in a good PA system in the future or hiring some. The problem for us is purely down to the pennies as always.

I agree the sound system wasnt exactly perfect, that can be improved upon, Ive never done that kind of event before, my hobby is DJ and not presenter. However I do feel a bit upset if you will, that I was given a timetable by Stuart and Lee. I helped the event try to keep to this time table, and yet I have people giving me grief for it.

I know im not gonna please everyone, and that doesnt bother me. But I helped Stuart and Lee, at a good financial cost to myself, plus time off work etc, and havent asked for anything in return.

I just dont think the criticism over the timetable is fair thats all.

Just as a note... I know for a fact that descent equipment to handle a job like that costs thousands. Im a club dj myself. So all in all we tried to make the best of what we had. Kev i wasnt around to say goodbye but thankyou kindly for your efforts.
