Chaps was it just me or was the standard of flying at rcha this year just immense?

It seemed to me that you can all smack 3d and I felt a touch too overwhelmed and intimidated to take my Heli out. I thought 'yeah I can fly' right up until the first Heli took off lol

I only saw one chap hovering and flying circuits after waiting ages to pluck up the courage to put his nitro up and he was asked to stop flying after a minute to let timo fly

Made me realise I still have a long way to go

I can't fly for shit but after waiting my turn to fly I would hope for some respect.

MK Heli Club is blessed with most of the Align flight team so some of us look crap week in week out. And then Duncan turns up....

I shouldn't worry about having a long way to go. Enjoy what you do and push on as you feel comfortable.

Who ever told him to land should have a boot up his arse. The flight line is open to anyone and anyone can fly, the pros have to wait like everyone else.

Never worry about your own flying just go fly. All those smack 3d pilots were at your stage at some point Don. Just remember that an in control tidy flight will get plenty of respect from people. More then a ragged, edgy out of control flight.

Hope it didn't go down quite the way that sounded, if it was a scheduled slot for Timo then it makes sense, but otherwise I'd have hoped anyone flying would have been allowed to finish their flight, takes guts to get out there and fly if you are at that stage and to then be asked to stop just after you get going is a bit poor ...

I flew regularly Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday with my 450 and 700e. Just 8's, stall turns and nose in (I've been flying for 18 months). Did 2/5ths of the RCHA cup, and took part in the world record hover for the second time.

Everyone I spoke to gave me some very good advice.

Don't feel intimidated, everyone there was a beginner once upon a time.

The thing I noticed is the only decent flying space was right in front of the shops etc which also had virtually all of the decent 3d guys flying from, so to get to fly there you had a long wait and also balls to stand there and fly in front of them, did manage it a few times but to be honest the 450 patch down the bottom of the hill was for the rest of us.

Im with you Don, the minute I saw those helis fly I said to myself " better just watch". Seeing from your vids on flying if you are long way, where that puts me? I did not even join the inverted hover as Im afraid I might clip somebody's heli, dont get me wrong I could hold the heli inverted on a full pack. Next time Im attending RCHA, I will definitely fly no matter what others would say about my flying.

Beg to differ and it was me that asked to see your curves. I did not fly on the flight line but hope to next year if I feel that my flying has improved enough there's a fair difference between being happy to fly at your own club and then in front of a load of strangers.

Just go for it next time mate and enjoy yourself...

I really enjoyed the event was a good social gathering besides flying.. everyone was open to chat and really friendly.. such an amazing atmosphere!

Like I said the flying part is my prob and we had a fantastic weekend. I would go every year now just for the craic

It was me that told him to land because Timo had a pre arranged demo slot.

Im not great at flying, but I was buzzing off having the pros either side of me!! I just kept a glance in the corner of my eye to make sure I dont get in the way. I thought it brought my flying on a bit tbh. I had a few good hurricanes going, and a couple of decent half piro flips! If I had my Rappy 90 with me rather than the Knight im sure id have been doing even better as I was having a few issues with the Knight. My own fault for crashing it on Wednesday!
