Unfortunately a few brands recently seem to have gone AWOL, namely Outrage and Ely.Q. Some keep supporting most of their models but after a while almost all the big brands begin to stop making parts for older helis. So the really established brands seem to support some of their models going back quite a long time and some newer brands turn and burn very fast.Last edited by trillian; 02-09-2013, 10:50 PM.Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam

Min Air still support all there models. Most of the common bits are interchangeable to. A 90 size fin will work on all there 90 size models. Mini Titan's been out since 06, that's 7 years. TT could deem that "old" if they really wanted to ditch it in favour of the higher-selling Raptors. X50's only been out a year or so, so they gotta make their money back on the tooling yet.
Just had a quick look thru Helikraft and they seem to stock parts for all Raptors, so not total disaster if Dave's right.Last edited by buzzbird; 03-09-2013, 08:59 AM.

The goblins, at least 500s, have already bottomed out on their 2nd hand value .... seeing a fully kitted out one for <£600 cheap .... They seem to have come and gone pretty quick
Logos seem to now be in the decline for some reason although our clubs logo population has gone from 1 to about 8 in the last 5 months

What amazes me is that the resale value always differs depending on the people selling and not the model.
I remember earlier in the year asking how much my untouched kit was worth on a trex 600 pro super combo and all the names here saying at least half price or less because it was now technically used. Interesting to see over the last couple of months that some of the ones shouting the most have been selling similar models and asking 70% of the value minus a fbl controller etc....
I have to say i feel sorry for goblin owners who are selling now as they have earned a hot potato reputation simply because they are normally a total rekit if crashed.
I am glad i hung on to my trex 600 kit which i am still to build. but i have seen them sell for more than i asked new when 30-40 flights old etc and without the spec or parts.1x EGS, TREX 450 PRO DFC & 130X. DX9 radio. No idea what i am doing trying to fly

Resale prices seem better in states going by other forums ....
Goblin is horrifying how expensive a small crash is...
Outrage etc might have gone awol but if they're still supplying parts to stockists it means they must still have cash-flow as i'd have expected parts to be the 1st victim of a failing company since that takes regular payment i would think.
Ironically it was the Outrage i thought i'd have got rid of first when things went south last year but its actually the one i've kept .... i've probably spent £50 on parts and thats mainly elective replacements/maintenance .... never crashed her yet (touch wood)
My Goblin 500 lasted about 5 weeks all told and maybe 15 flights .... crashed (tip-over) on maiden and cost £200 in bits .... thats a hell of a lot for a smaller heli ... ended up seller it as i was just too scared of it.... another in our club was in same positionGaui X4 II VBar - Trex 500 efl Pro VBar

I think your case was affected by the release of a new version of what you had for sale, which is always going to reduce 2nd hand value even more. As has been said the second hand Goblin market will be affected by the release of the competition edition.Originally posted by trexamanic View PostWhat amazes me is that the resale value always differs depending on the people selling and not the model.

At the end of the day something is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. Simple as that.
But, i guess if the seller is a respected member with a decent selling history, that might sway peoples decision on wether to deal with someone at the price they are asking
I also think it differs from brand to brand. There are A LOT of Aligns and A LOT of Goblins. I sold an Align set up worth a grand upwards for £250 as i knew it would not command much of a price as there are so many. I also sold a Gaui X7 worth £1000 for £475 which is less than half price too. Both sold quick as others must have agreed with the pricingStainburn Helicopter Club

No case as such.
Merely pointing out some facts.
If you are questioning my reputation as a seller you will be the first to do so as I have never ever had an issue and have bought plenty as well as sold plenty here.

Lol, im not questioning your reputation at all. You said you think sometimes the seller can demand a higher price than others for whatever reason. I gave the only reason i think that could be true. I got a warning over the incident your talking about with your 600 so im presuming it is me that post from you was aimed at. So... I hope your not suggesting i sold a model similar to yours for 70 per cent of value? Because that is factually incorrectOriginally posted by trexamanic View PostNo case as such.

I apologise if that comment was not aimed at me.... but, as i got a warning over the incident, then sold some models a bit later, im pretty sure it was aimed at me

lol then backed out.....
Please don't get wound up mate
.... your the one that had an under hand dig at me... i just had one back is all

Was not aimed at you You have my word on that. Infact I cannot even remember any incident. My memory struggles on important things let alone anything on a forum. Apologies If you thought I was having a go. I was not.
I was simply pointing out how trends can have an effect on someone financially through no fault of their own.
I thought I was on topic.
I think the best example recently has been the poor guys with obliterated goblins. I feel really sorry for them that so much hard earned money invested cab be lost so quickly and even worse cannot be rebuilt at a fair price resulting in total loss.
