Even cheaper and easier, go to B&Q and look at the 19mm tubing / towel rails I think , you can buy them in different lengths with all the brackets separately. I store 5 helis on mine ranging from the 600nitro which is the smallest to the logo 700 etc, Ill add pictures in when I get back. Cost me less than £20.
I bought 2x4 foot curtain poles (much the same as rob barnes mentioned) for about a tenner from B&Q. I can hang 3 550 helis on each, so I just need another 3 helis now LOL

Wow that is a serious collection.
Simple solution too.
depends how many models you have
1) fix 2x1 prepared softwood battens vertically to wall using plug and screws
2) then fix horizontal battens on top of vertical ones and fix
3) then start hanging helicopters
My simple solution was a scrap length of hardwood lathe about 1" wide and a few mm thick screwed to the wall with 18mm thick small blocks as stand-offs placed every 18" or so. You'll find similar in the B&Q beading rack. Avoids the chunky appearance of some solutions and was something spare lying under the workbench. A strip of flat ally might be nicer to match some decor and make standoffs with screws through short lengths ally tube but mine's in the heli cupboard anyway.
