  • Spektrum AR7200BX plus remote Rx

I know that I must be missing the obvious but where does the DSMX remote RX plug into the BeastX.

i would also be interested to know your views on whether it is essential or desirable to fit a remote Rx when putting BeastX AR7200BX in a FBL conversion to a Trex 500ESP Heli.

    Cheers.

The connector for the satellite is in the middle of where the servos connect.

As for using one on a Trex 500, for the sake of £20 (less than a set of blades for it), there's just no reason not to run one.

You might get away with no satellite on a 500, you might not. Do you want to risk your 500 against £20?
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

The connection for the sat is right in the middle of the connections for the servos. I would fit a sat to a 500

Thank you both for your useful replies. I was missing the obvious I guess. It's the position marked RxL !

I shall certainly take your advice and fit the remote Rx.

Don't forget that with the AR7200BX, you already have two active antenna so it is the same as say an AR8000 + satellite.

Adding a satellite to an AR7200BX is like having an AR8000 with two satellites.

No harm in doing it of course and it does let you position one antenna some distance from the other two, but it is not essential.

Thank you for that thought. The significance of adding a remote to the 7200 had passed me by. I may still go for 'belt and braces' - as I already have a spare satellite.

Can't hurt to do that of course, but do make sure it is a DSMX satellite, DSM2 satellites must not be used with the AR7200BX.

Same goes for any other DSMX receiver, and DSM2 receivers for that matter.

Always use the matching satellite to go with the receiver, DSMX satellite for DSMX receiver and DSM2 satellite for DSM2 receiver.
