  • Using the wrong grease

Ran out of the silicone grease i usually use for things like this so thought id use some of the align one way bearing grease, should be ok? Wrong lol, these dampeners are only five flights old!
so make sure you use the correct grease in the correct place.

I find that carlube silicone grease is a good one for the feathering shaft/dampers - not too expensive and can be used on rubber & plastics - can be bought anywhere (got mine from wilkos!)

        Wow, they've been munched!

Have only ever used the small tube of align grease i got with the kits. Never ran out, so never thought to buy anything better.

its amazing how quickly the grease has broken them down, not only are they falling apart but theve gone soft as poo too within the space of a week lol.

Stupid thing is that I used GT85 to clean the bearings up and lube the tube before I started putting the OWB grease on. In future I will just stick to GT85.

yeah thatll be fine mate, as itll leave a thin film of PTFE/Teflon on there aswell. I buy it in 12 can packs lasts me about a year of racing off-road buggies and I strip and clean them every use
