Standard 2mm bullets are rated for up to 20A to 30A of current.
Standard 3.5mm bullets are rated for up to 60A to 75A of current.
Standard 4mm bullets are rated for up to 70A to 80A of current.
Standard 6mm bullets are rated for up to 150A of current.
Standard 8mm bullets are rated for up to 250A of current.
Im very surprised that these figures arnt published by the manufacturer/distributer. Makes buying the correct size a little difficult. Maybe something to suggest to FL for example.
I think to be fair most people get confused by the entire current drain issue. How many AWG this and what size that.
It would be a good idea for someone to research the correct ratings and maybe Stuart could create a sticky in the electric/ESC form.
One of the biggest misconceptions is the size of bullets required for motor connections, if you take into account that the majority of motors we all use are 3phase which means the total current draw is divided by 3 as far as I understand it. In short that means if you have a motor that's going to draw 120amps you would require bullets that were capable of 40amps to connect it to the ESC and NOT as many might think ones that can carry 120amp.

Rated @ 40 amps constant = probably ok for twice that for a couple of seconds.

You can't divide by three as two wires are in use at any one time, not one. The heating effect depends on the square of the current.
Fair play to you Cj you are of course correct in that statement. The point I was trying to get over was if you've got 120A ESC it doesn't mean you need 120A bullet connectors for your motor, in fact 4mm connectors would probably be fine for the job (assuming you can fit them on the ESC wires that is).
It always makes me chuckle to myself when I look at the squared section of the motor cables fitted to the majority of Scorpion & Align motors, they're about 1.5mm and after all that's probably weakest link of the installation.
