I can't wait to finish working in France and come join the fun. You guys have done an incredible job... Well done guys!!!
I'm just jealous because other than my 130x I haven't flown one of my bigger helis since last year...

Nice work guys but are you relying on our old foe (gravity) as your main method of fixing here? It looks as though you've skimped on the mortar a bit and unless it's bolted down you may find that you've got a very big 'plank' flying across your flight line in a bit of a blow.

                Cheers, Marty

You may want to consider covering it with roofing felt instead. Easier, longer lasting and replaceable

We are going to be covering it with tarpaulin when not in use.

Its a very valid point. At the moment we have no mortar used, which has a couple of draw backs, but lots of advantages:

we can be sure we are happy with where it is
if the slab 'footings' start shifting, it will be very easy to rebuild
if we dont like where it is, we can move it

The gravity issue may be a problem in the wind though, and we plan to drive some threaded bar through the blocks and then bolt the top to it in the very near future

It's a flying site table. All you need is to chamfer the prevailing wind side to give negative lift and a spoiler on the trailing edge...or flaps, servos, solar panels and a HH gyro to keep it stationary..

I think the decision not to make the table 'permanent' was a very good one due to the nature of our landlords business. The turf is harvested bi annually so I guess we may have to move its location anyway.
If the wind is particularly bad the top can be removed and laid flat on the floor I suppose
