What's suddenly up with all this PC niceness? What's wrong with a bit of honest hatred of plank fliers? There they go again banging on about how hard it is to prop hang..we do it so easy....

I find the anti-fixed wing (or planks if a pseudo derogatory term is necessary) ranting rather sad, childish and unnecessary. We all engage in enjoying R/C flying machines, and this includes a broad variety of different types. This is a hobby, not a reason to go to presume or assign superiority or inferiority, and we should live and let enjoy. We all need to stick together and help and facilitate each other for the greater (and hence individual) good.

If you only fly helicopters and have no wish to fly or try fixed wing, or any other format, then fine; but there is no need to be rude or belittling of those that do. You wouldn’t discriminate against someone just because they were a different (insert anything you like in here), so why because they enjoy flying fixed wing and enquire whether you interested and maybe even willing to let you have a try, is it OK to be nasty about them?

It’s called tolerance, it’s about being grown up and accepting that there are many different facets to our wider hobby of playing with model flying machines, regardless of the actual discipline engaged in, and it is about being open minded not closeted bigots. We need to stick together and support each other - we all need space to fly in and enjoy our hobby.

for the record, I flew planks before helis. And I can fly reasonably proficient 3d with a plank. I find them as dull as dishwater!! I have a vague itch for a big edf Vulcan, but im pretty sure I can be forgiven that.

I flew a mates acrowot the other day, I was bored within 10 seconds. because there simply isnt the control, corrections, and forward thinking required like you need with a heli.

So basically its been there, done that, bores me to tears!
Some say my left nipple is the shape of a Raptor canopy.......... And that for fun I chase sheep in wellies 3 sizes too big. All I know is I am 3D Clod

Then ya not doing it right buddy...ya gotta stick ya weener into the spinning prop end then ya get a good thrill....and just after a nice 700 degree jetblast across gonads and if that doesn't get ya juices flowing 10 lashes over the willie with a wet prop dipped in salt sorta gets it going for me...well thats how we do it in the outback anyway!

I must be honest and not lie ...no props or planks are hurt in these procedures!
