  • Weather to fly or not

Well guys and galls, how was it today for you all? I went over to our field expecting 12-15mph winds as per the forecast and in usual style it was miles off it must have been at least 25-30 mph at times.

I had a few flights but with the wind like that, I dont get the enjoyment out of it and ended up doing about 3 or 4 flights of general circuits. nothing more adventurous than that.

Not a total disaster by any means but just not as good as I had hoped

had quite a nice day today, about a 10mph wind i guess, gave the synergy a good shakedown Yesterday was a bit grim though, nearer 25mph winds, and very fine misty rain (but i still took and passed my "a" test though ). Still managed to burn a gallon and a quater this weekend though

I started this morning about 8 o'clock it was lovely hardly any wind sun shining not that cold by the time it for to 10 the wind was whipping up and it was getting not so much fun.

another goal reached today actually managed a nearly a whole battery nose in inverted with the 450, took it down to about 5 foot at one point and held it there.
      All the best

An ok day for me, 600 nitro flew well with a new gyro on, trying to be braver with new moves, 600 elec went well also, 450 didn't like the wind mind, the tail was all over the place, time to upgrade to a 401 and bigger servo i think, cheep stuff can't hack it in the world of 3D.
In the end packed up after just an hour as the weather was looking more and more iffy, and even spotted with rain at one point, roll on summer

Not a bad day all told here. Took the whole heli fleet to the field. Ended up flying everything except the 500.

Did nose-in inverted for the first time with the 450 and then the Knight.

Had a great last flight on the Knight and was really confident but the engine cut (luckily, whilst I was the right way up!) and auto'd it down ok. The header tank was only half full and the engine was hot so there must be air getting in somewhere
              A bit of investigation required...

You're not wrong Rob There were no more flights after that

It was a fair bit away from me and it got dumped a bit but it seems to have survived okay
                  Cheers, Lee.

I dont blame you, it must be hard to fly with the additional load in the undercarriage

Well not too bad a day, less wind than yesterday - flew 2.5 tanks through the raptor at the field, last half was an auto nose in when the tail rod failed (again!), all ok though so cleaned it up ready for a couple of weeks of storage while I visit NASA the week after next week for the launch.

While I was in the shed I decided to finish off fixing the EP100 I had left over winter. Wooow I forgot how much fun that thing is. I must have come on with my flying over the last few months as it was a lot easier to fly than I remember, Good job I had a few spare blade as well

The Mrs caught some of the action on video this afternoon

                            http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/videos...fcb0b968dbbbd6

I cant wait to get it in an open space, there just wasn't enough room to try any stall turns!
                            Regards,

Did 7 flights but the 30 knot windsock at the end of the field was suffering a major overdose of viagra...Only 4.5 deg so not exactly pleasant
