FMS is free, Phoenix you have to pay for, but you gets what you pays for.Originally posted by alexlee993 View PostWhat about FMS??? My father in Law has it but I keep reading that Phoenix is good, whats the differences between the 2???
There is no comparison between the two, Phoenix is close to the real thing FMS is not.

I don't think the whole CP or FP thing applies to our little contras, only to single rotors, I think the reason they are harder is a/ they have a tail rotor, so you have more work to do to keep them steady, b/ they are far more nimble, as they would need to be to perform aerobatics like inverted flight and tic tocs. If phoenix is anything to go by those 3d things are sods to fly, they tend to be a bit twitchy. I can just about hover one over a 6 foot square area on Phoenix now, and that only after I stripped and rebuilt my contra, I think the understanding it gave me for how it all gels together helped. Plus I'm using a different controller (see my CX TX problems post on that one...).
Correct me if I'm wrong guys but that is why they're harder isn't it?John

So the leap to single rota helis is a lot harder then if you are learning on a contra heli?? I'm still in 2 minds as to whether I should repair the one I have or switch to something else that would ease the learning!!! Whats the ESKY Belt CP like?? Anybody think its a reasonable heli??Yesterday is History

Tell that to my ruddy Twister Skylift (so stable it almost flies itself) Yeah right!! Okay, I've had nothing but fiddling since I bought it trying to get it to 'straighten up and fly right'. If I can't do it soon I swear I'll give up on it. At least my BCX2 flies okay, but still not as stable as it ought to be. I know with that half my battle will be a new TX, but the Twister? It's more a case of don't go where you shouldn't than go where I want. I love the thing to bits but it's making a hole bigger than my wallet can stand right now.Originally posted by Sao View PostThey only seem harder because you've been spoilt by stable almost fly themselves contra rotating 'helis'John

I like my Co-ax and judging by my Phoenix practice I would have spent alot of money repairing a 400 size helicopter especially in the wind!!
Can just about hover a 400 size on phoenix now and do a couple of circuits with it, landing it is still a problem though lol!!
I don't think my co-ax has been a waste though as I am able to practice my stick movement on a real heli as aposed to the sim. so its teaching me the spacial awareness and how to adjust the flight path if its in danger and how not to panic when your about to hit something!!------------------------------------------------
