Hi there - my advice would be ...
.... to learn a little bit about the physics of heli flight - in particular "translating tendency". When I got my 120SR, I was convinced it was broken for ages because it kept drifting left on take off and wouldn't lift off directly upwards. Took me ages to find the reason why.
.... start with lots of space. If you're learning indoors, find a space with no hard objects, or put pillows over them to protect both them and your heli.
.... Keep it tail-in (tail towards you) to start with. If you find it start to drift side-on, either correct with the rudder, or land gently and reset the heli back to tail-in.
.... Don't run before you can walk! There are no prizes for rushing in this game (at least, not for you, the spares guys make a killing however!)
Good luck!Tom

Ooh ooh , my first bit of real advise I'm gonna give here..........
If trying to fly it in the lounge , protect your flat screen telly ! Or you could have one heck of an expensive crash !
Ask me how I know
T Rex 600 n pro, Raptor 50 ( on the build table) T Rex 500 , Nano and a Blade 450 ,T Rex 250 ( still in box )

A 120sr really needs a large hall, especially for learning. It can't fly outside. An msr would be a better idea for indoors. The bigger the heli, the less it can survive a crash. Get someone to help you if at all possible. Just try to get it to almost take off to begin off, and then just hop. It will go left as it takes off, until you tilt it to the right. It is not as easy as it looks. A sim is a good idea.Flasher 450 Sport. Assan GA250 with 520 tail servo, MKS DS450 cyclic.

For the first few hops, the 120sr is ok in living room .. A large hall is better, sure, but for your first hops, it'll be fine in the house.
It'll fly outside too so long is the air is still, or there is just a mild breeze. For example, here's me last year flying my old 120sr. You can tell from the trees in the background what the wind was like. It was struggling in that though!

You have to be very good to fly the 120sr outside. You'd be better off with a 130-x, that will fly outside in wind. It is traditional to buy something and then ask for advice. Wrong, but most people do it. It does all depend on ability. That varies a lot. More people find it difficult than easy, and most people have many setbacks.Flasher 450 Sport.
