Some say my left nipple is the shape of a Raptor canopy.......... And that for fun I chase sheep in wellies 3 sizes too big. All I know is I am 3D Clod

Was a scratch golfer, damaged my lower back and wrecked my shoulder, needed something to challenge me and get me outside, a friend flew nitro helis, showed me one flying and I thought, I could do that. Mmmmm, well maybe!!!
Cost of new heli and running it, versus golf for a year, not a lot in it, can't fly in the rain though.

'whirlybirds' predates airwolf... many of us were 'too old' for airwolf (didn't stop us watching it)

But like many, I suspect, I just bought one of those £20 foamies to play with in my office as a break from doing the vat - and it got out of hand from there: a contra for more control, then the HBK2 piece of poo I couldn;t fly.. so gritted my teeth and invested in a proper 450 to find out if it was me or the hbk2.. then a 600e a couple of gassers and so on..

Now I know why you call us BI@CH

My Dad. He took up the hobby as something to do together.
Started learning to fly around 6 years old, got some video learning on my Dads Hirobo 505 at 7 years of age, naturally age was on my side (as was Daddy paying the bills) so soon over took him and then became teacher.
Some 31 years later still loving it, only wish I was a youngster again with todays technology.

Was into RC cars from a young age; kyosho Ultima Pro (still have this one!), Mid Optima, Marui Ninja and Schumacher Cat. Loved the building and fiddling as much as the driving. Always wanted a heli, but cost and advice from the LMS that i would never be able to fly a helicopter aged 13 meant i never got one. Anyway a few years ago i saw some guys flying at the local park (Raptor 50 and Trex 600) and it re-kindled the urge to get one. So after quite a bit of research and a quick internet search and I had a trex 450 on the way. Never looked back and wish I had never listened to the LMS all those years ago!

I pulled into Rownhams services west bound on my way to work (nights midnight start) for a red bull. Someone was flying what looked like a paper aeroplane doing loops & stuff around the pumps (yes weird) but it stuck in my head. I then trawled the argos catalogue & got a cheap plane. It was uncontrollable & it landed on a dual carriage way & got run over. I bought another, crashed it taped it together & took it back . I then bought a HUGE plane from yep Rownhams services that didn't have enough power to fly so I took it back. I then kept looking at a Striker plane in Hobbyzone in Festival Place whilst filling the coke machines opposite but also the little Helicopter too. That got me imagining flying it around Festival Place & the conclusion that I can learn to fly a heli only inches off the ground & so minimizing damage. So I got a Ripmax Sabre. Prior to this i'd never tried anything RC.

was not interested in anything RC, and to be honest thought it was a bit sad. Then 4/5 years ago I received a 3 channel Syma thing and loved it, and the rest is history
