  • 600 Cyclic Servos feeling stiff - On their way out?

I've had 2 recent crashes; one which was a jesus bolt failure and the other seemingly points to aileron servo failure, but the VBar is showing nothing.

Looking at the servos they seem a bit stiff when turning them by hand. I've heard some folks getting stiff servos and having them fail in the past. Compared to the tail servo which turns very freely. (DS610s / DS650). The servos have done approximately 350 flights.

Is it time to change them out? Or maybe some new gears? I've checked the gears and they're all ok apart from the aileron servo which has knackered part of the first gear (will be changed).

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers

    Dani

That's pretty good gong I would say, that amount of flights. And if they been crashed even better. I suppose if it was a car you would be changing brake disc and shock absorber after so many miles of wear and tear.

The 610's will be easier to turn due to the different gearing I would think?

The first crash I had with the heli was only recently and that was doing some grass cutting. Since then it has crashed every couple of flights for the reasons above. Most annoying. Costing me a fortune! More annoying when it's not my fault.

So are we saying new gears? Or whole new servos?

In regards to the original question Dani I would be inclined to get brand new servo's. At least you can use the old one's for spare gears in the future if need be.

i would say go for new servos if you can trust them anymore, plus after 350 flights I think they earnt there money.

I thought he was talking about cyclics when mentioning aileron servo failed. Not tail
