next helicopter after a mcpx ?

I guess the answer to that question depends on what you can do and what you want to do next. For more indoor flying I guess most folks will say blade 130x but for my money I'd say find somewhere safe to fly outdoors, preferably a club a go for a 450 size heli, not huge, not mega expensive relatively speaking and will get you flying a real heli. Align 450 or blade 400x being the obvious choices again.

Personally I wanted to fly outdoors so after learning the basics on the mcpx I stepped up to a Trex 500, also got a 250 but it doesn't get as much airtime.

Never flown the 130x but know a couple of people that do, like them and gain confidence by flying indoors and out.

As DaveJones says - depends on what you want. For indoor, a 130X is about right I think personally. If you want to progress a bit outdoors - you should take a look at the Blade 450X. The Trex250 is a bit of a solution trying to find a problem in my opinion and the 300x doesn't really make much sense either to me. The 450X though is bonkers good. 500 wise, the Trex is a solid machine, but I think it make be quite a jump from an mcpx.

The 300x is not a bad first step for outdoor flying , less intimidating that a 450 and for the current price you get a lot of heli for the price, the 450x is only slightly more . In answer to the question go with the 130x for indoor use .

How much do you want to spend buying bigger and bigger?, just like the addiction, if it was me I would look at where will I be in a years time, and just go strait for that heli otherwise you will spend a fortune upgrading time after time... like I did and I wish Ide gone for electric from the start 600-700 size and I would have not waisted/lost on resale money on all the other small heli's.

Trex 550DFC if you want to fly out doors but the 130X I fly mostly out doors even on windy days.

I started on a 60 size model, bigger is better. But if your going to stick to indoor get a 450. If you go to indoor clubs normally 450 biggest your allowed, but is still very capable of flying outdoors in wind.

Just remember bigger heli = bigger repair bills!

Until you've got out of the 'crashing every time you fly' stage, (which you may have already) I'd not get anything bigger than a 450 or you could be bankrupt!

130X flys like a bigger heli and will teach you a lot. But all depends on how much you are willing to put into this 'hobby' as to which you purchase. I have a 300X which is a lot less intimidating than a 450 and i can fly at my local park when no one is about. It costs about the same in parts as a 450 but was only £209 new including a battery!!

Also bear in mind for anything 550 size upward you should really fly at a club as they can be dangerous in a public area.

I went to a B4503D after the mcpx, if honest, wish i had gone for the B450X first off though.

A bit of a shock when it first spins up but once in the air they are quite a friendly heli, obviously, in the right hands more than capable of doing 3D, but also quite a good first step into a bigger heli i feel.

Also my 4503D has been on the wrong side of the sky a few times and crashes cost around 30 quids, but then you do get two of some things when you order them, main gears, feathering shafts and such, you have a spare for the next time.

Depends on your wallet and what size you want to get into.

Go for the 450X if you can, I had a 450 3D and sold it for a 300X, and I'm so glad I did!

130X is also a good choice.

The 450x is easier to fly I found , and a lot easier to fix after a crash ( fly bars are fiddly! )

the 130x is only good for indoors if you're talking about a large gym area. Otherwise it's really an outdoor heli .... To fast and quick for a lounge type space.

Yep +1 for the 450x, like i said, wish i'd gone for the 450x first off instead of the 3D, going to be ordrering one myself in around a week.

Will still use the 4503D, and for that matter, i still use the mcpx, trying things with the mcpx, then the 450, in a one step ahead sort of thing.
