  • and another noob failure from me (again)

    what a hobby

today i went to the field with a heli however I did start up the Tx with another heli program but i didnt notice this

ok everything looks normal, aileron works elevator works rudder works throttle nothing strange sofar

however it was very hard to start up the engine finally when holding a finger at the engine pipe to get it some more fuel it did start

    !!! WHAT???? FULL THROTTLE

O PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! took my brains some seconds telling me take of the fuel line and PFFFFFF the engine stopt

what did I do? I reversed the throttle channel and I was wondering how this was possible that the servo at once needed a reverse??

Then I took of and noticed the gyro was reversed so I was about stopping immediately by using throttle cut
BUT throttle cut didnt work, so I walked to the heli and carefuly agian i took of the fuel line

    NOW CHECK THIS OUT:

after wondering what all did happen I noticed my transmitter was programmed at my other heli WHAAAAT???????

I thought this wasnt even possible when having 2.4 Ghz ??? there are about a million or whatever combinations

how is this possible??? Im still in search for the answer
Anyway happy nothing bad happened...sweet mama a startup with full throttle for about 5 seconds and it feels like i also have burnt the clutch I have to find out coming days

    AM I A NOOB OR am i A NOOB?

Must be futaba, you wouldn't get that on jr or spectrum they have model match, it's all about preflight checks

No you wouldn't get this with Spec, but you loose the heli to the sunset instead!...lol
Like Brian said, it's all about preflight checks.

I wasn't trying to start anything (excuse the bun, I mean pun) futaba are very good radio equipment, but jr and speccy have the model match function. So if you turn on with wrong model selected, won't do anything.

Oh aye, its easy enough to get round tho mate, just make 100% sure you check the radio before starting the engine

not to repeat myself but im still astonished I really thought Futaba did not have 1 failure at all! not that I care but this is sooo new for me
Im just having 2.4 for a couple of months All that time I was thinking wrong about this aspect

it was exactly the same with 35meg mate. Unless you made sure you could have the wrong model memory in. Futaba did circumvent this with the PCM 1024 and subsequently PCM2048 systems. I know my 7c wont run my Vibe if on Raptor model and vice versa. And theyre both on 35 meg but PCM1024 dual conversion

It's not a failure of Futaba if you're the one who selected the wrong model.

You can enable a function to select a model every time you switch on the transmitter, it wont transmit until a model is selected. This prevents this kind of scenario happening.

at least it is a shortcoming
Im thinking is there a chance they will change about this in the future?

im unsure if this is the case with the older transmitters but I know the new ones have this function

@Varelco my Tx doesnt have this but even with this function I really think they should put in software that makes binding with different models impossible
