  • Not looped a heli, till today...

Have been building myself up to do a loop for ages, I did loop my Eco8 years ago and it didn't live to tell the tail . So after a trip to "Air" Saturday I got the bug to have another go, so out came my trusty 130x and after a few high speed passes I had a go, well, I got inverted at a good height and my C gear stripped and I lost the tail, she just span in, bug*ered my new twin pitch slider and took out both main and tail blades when it hit the only park bench for miles lol FFS hehehehe. Back to the bench and a bit of swearing and some bits I had around, I got the old bird back for another "worm worrying sortie". She came passed at a rate of speed and climbed, and over the top she went yipppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. 5 batteries later and over 20+ loops and I'm wondering what all the fuss was about, only prob now is I'm hooked, it's like a drug, need more loops and maybe a roll thrown in. I know it's not a big deal to some of you 3D'ers but its made my fathers day when I saw the look on my boys face after the first loop (he didn't see the first crash ) Well chuffed...

The first loop does feel amazing doesn't it - as you say its like a big "thing" to build up to doing, but once you've done it you feel elated and also why you hadn't done it sooner...

      Well done mate!

Well done to you. I almost did it last week with my 130X but bottled it as it was windy. I'm doing loops and rolls on the simulator no problem so just waiting for a calm (ish) day and then i'll go for it for real.

Cheers guys, was a great feeling and now for a flip or roll, who knows. "Weirdfish" just go for it mate, it's a lot easier than you think, the hard part is getting over the nerves and that soon goes, after 5 issh it's not so nerve racking and the fun hits big-time. Not crash my 130x that bad before and was so surprised how tough they are. Have a go, you'll love it...

Well I moved on from my 130X and looped, flipped and forward flipped my V1 FBL mini titan, trouble was I forgot to start my timer on the second flight and she had a hard but controlled landing. Butchers bill is tail blades and 2 cyclic servos, they are Ace DC0915's. Can't find the servo's anywhere in the UK, it's nuts for such a common servo or so you'd think!!!
