  • Flying Burger !?

    Oh for heaven's sake!

Video: Sushi restaurant launches flying 'iTray' waiter service - Telegraph

Jesus, I must be getting old and fuddy, but am I alone is thinking this is just plain dumb. I'm not being the fun police here, not suggesting this will take somebody's eye out. ... I just want my food to be delivered in a restaurant by a nice waiter (preferably young and female ). Not by a quadcopter!

Including a video definitely beats the link to this from yesterday and the one the day before

Seriously though, it really does show just how dumb this bit of publicity really is, it looked bad enough in the photo, the video just proves the point.

It just highlights stupid PR stunts (pun definitely intended).

Thats going to be great... flying a burger to my table.

The irony is that there is actually a very real need for UAV style devices to deliver items on demand.

One example is blood. Currently for 'difficult blood' I have to wait about 4 hours to get blood for patients in an emergency, as a sample has to be couriered to Bristol and then the blood returned. Using UAV technology this time could be cut to a little over an hour, potentially life saving.... problem is that devices like this currently are not allowed.

Hehe this is just around the corner from me and I've seen them filming it. Quite silly I'd say.
btw: Burgers are fake and the girl wasn't controlling it with an ipad. It was a bloke with an iphone, she just stood next to him.

Girl 'flying' looked so fake! And who wants to reach past spinning death to get their food? Boring and stupid PR, IMO.
