5C LIFE enough for RX battery - Trex 600N?

I bought this battery for my Trex 600N and I have used it for a few tanks now without any problems. However, my concern is after reading a bit about this is if 5C is enough for 4 DS620 servos?

I think 5C would mean 12.5A discharge(electrickery is still new to me )

There are posts showing scary high current draw on align servos when changing direction or binding so in theory four such servos working hard culd exceed the 12.5amp of this pack. HK do a 20C discharge 3000mah ife pack that would appear more suitable but then if genuinely wanting to cover high current draws you ought to swap out the power plugs provided and use both wires to split load.
It probably only applies to fast hard 3D or a mechanical issue.

Really? Isn't the align 2in 1 supplied with combo's only rated at 6A?(Chris Newby flies using one and I'm sure that could be called Hard 3D ) The binding comment I can understand but surely thats a set up issue that should be avoided anyway.

I did some rough tests of my own a while back and I could top the current draw at around 18amps but this was momentary. On average with what I would call 3D stick waggling at around 6 to 8 amps. I run LiFe now and I would say that the pack you linked to will be fine. I would say though I reckon the 2 in 1 is on the limit for a 700 machine. But if it works then it works I suppose

I suspect the align 6A is continuous with an allowance for bursts..it'd have to be. As to binding .. it isn't just a setup issue it's a bad luck issue if a gear set gets sticky in flight or some other weird thing happens. I've had a throttle servo 620 gearset jam in flight.. was nice that the rest of the flight sytem stayed working!

I have the 2:1 on my 700N and agree it works fine but if paranoia sets in then play safe. My most expensive bird to fix is the spectra and after one episode of a loss of flight power it has the ultimate in paranoid slutions: dual redundant nimh and switch systems and on-board generator. When i was manking sticks on that on the bench with smooth futaba servos I was able to get serious flickers on voltage measures with a single large nihm pack...

If you use the turnigy or zippy packs, please check the capacity before you entrust it to your beloved.
I bought 3 of them and not a single one gave anywhere near its rated capacity.
the 1800 gave about 1100 mah, the 2200 about the same, the 700 gave 300 and snuffed it after 3 charges.

I use genuine A123's in all my stuff now and they are ace, expensive as packs in the uk but you can buy the cells from HK HK for about 5 quid each and make your own. Can be super fast charged without issue in 10 minutes if desired and are higher C rating that you'd need. They are 6.6v nominal so can use em straight with Align STD voltage servos.

I run hyperion 2S 2100mah 6.6v 5C packs. I've never had any issues with these. I run one on a 6HV with Ds610 servos, never had any issues there. Also run the same pack on the 7HV with BLS451 servos, again never has any issues.

Mine seem to be okay, the tags are spot welded to the top and bottom so you only have to solder to those and no different from retail packs I suppose

I suppose that depends on how how good one is at soldering but dead easy really
IIRC I have them on 6 models and have done a couple for friends and AFAIK no failures yet.

I'd also trust the hyperion ones as well, not sure on their max charge rate, that might be the only offput for someone as disorganised as myself who usually charges 15 minutes before he leaves the house!
One slight advantage loose cells have is if your a little stuck for space, you can split them and run the connecting wires a little longer. I did that with my 600 EFL when they both would not quite fit under the canopy and it worked out great.
