  • What do you do when the confidence is gone?

Over the last few weeks I had lost confidence in both my helis, 3 gx setup and tail wag on the 450 and a couple of lean runs on the 600 which resulted in a couple of contacts with the ground. SO a change of fuel to 20% and also I decided to change the 600 to a fbl with 3gx and dfc head at the same time.

So what do you do ? Well I booked up to go and see Ian Contessa ( Coolice Flight School ) to check over the set up of both helis and my transmitter settings for me yesterday, at the end of which having seen both of the helis flying the works ( I wish the TX had been in my hands ) My confidence is now fully returned and one very happy Flyer. This was all for less than the cost of of a crash on the 600 and well worth it for anyone in a similar position to this. Just hope the weather at the weekend is good to get back to flying happily flying them myself.

    Regards

    Chris

Great Choice, Ian is a Great guy who knows the mechanical and electrical sides of helis. I can now build a heli much to the teaching of Ian, but I am still not confident on the settings. With all of our helis being flown by Alex, (hard Fast and Low) we need to be confident that the model is perfect, and Ian gives us that confidence.

Ian also is the guy to see for custom Graphics, so if you want some bling for your heli...or car for that matter he is your man.

Hi Peter You two did come up in conversation the scary thing is mine and Ian's paths might have crossed several years ago at various flying field s back in the days of the Kalt space baron and Concept 30

                Evening Chris.

Thank you for the kinds words buddy. It was great to finally meet you after our conversations and I am so happy to hear you had a good visit and went away happy and with a renewed confidence in your models.

As you say I am sure somewhere in the past we have crossed paths on more than one occasion, if not at the local flying field then at a show.

Look forward to seeing you again soon and keep me posted on your progress now you're feeling more confident in the models.

They fly again and the confidence is back shame its taken so long just the weather not been playing ball. I even took one of the planks out tonight just so it did not feel left out for the last six months.

                    Get back out ASAP.

                    A recent example,

I wanted to fly at AIR soon as I got there to get over that 'first flight'. I crashed soon as I started flying and I was very nervous about going out again especially in front of people. OK I flew rubbish and done terrible imo as my speeds were traigcally low but I was pleased I actually went back out!!

Defo get back out is the best advice I could give.
