Receiver Controlled Lighting Switch - Can it work with SBus?

Looking for a bit of help please!

I'm looking to add a switch on my night heli that allows me to switch the lights on and off from the Tx. I want to use this device from HK -

I use Futaba Sbus Rx's - Can this be used with that Rx setup? I have a couple of free ports as there are 4 - (1,2,3,Sbus).

If it can - What channel do I assign the command to in my Tx? If I assign it to channel 1 or 2 for example surely that will do something with the Ail/Ele? I'm confused as to how to get a use out of the extra ports that are there with the Sbus.

Yes it can work with SBus receivers as it is just another servo connection.

As to the channel, you can use whatever is free really.

Helps with Futaba to think about functions on ports rather than channels as they are not fixed.

What is your rx connected to?

If it is a FBL unit then it will need to allow the reassignment of functions to different channels if you need to free up a port on a 3 channel SBus rx for example.

I'm using the 6203SB Sbus Rx with a VBar Silverline Fullsize. Any pointers would be incredibly helpful

So, with the 6203SB you don't have quite the same flexibility that they added with the newer 6303SB, but it is still easy enough to do.

At its most basic, just pick one of the 3 physical ports, let's say port 1 for example and then go to your radio and move the function that is currently on channel one to a higher unused channel, lets say 9. Remember to move the control and trim setting at the same time.

Replace that on port 1 with the function you are going to use to control the device you are plugging in and assign a switch to control it.

Now go to the VBar software and tell it that the function you moved is now on channel 9.

I can connect directly to Sbus and use the high order channels one wire solution... box has 8 outputs... how many lights did you want ???

Sounds like Steve's solution will work straight off the SBus, so you wouldn't need to change anything on the VBar or move low channels around.

Steve seems to have an 8 output box that takes the signal from SBus, so in short, buy his box instead of that HK switch and you are set

Just for the record, I'd recommend the DElight controller rather than the HK.

It's a really flexible bit of kit.

Danny tell me the frist free channel you have on your system that you can attach to a switch on the raido... and I will show you a working switch on that channel from a y lead on an R6203.... S

I did what Mark suggested and just moved the channels around on the 8FG/VBar.

However - in the matter of interest - I guess the first free channel would be 7 or 8? I'm not using VBar gov at this time.
