I didn't make it in either

Zone has always been branded an international competition, and picking pilots rather than first come first serve really isn't feasable for finding the best pilots in the world.
You can't enter the olympics on a first come first served basis! You need I qualify at the this leel for any sporting event.
However, it doesn't leave much room having only 24 pilots in an entire competition and it obvious that probably 2/3rds or more will be international pilots.
I'm still looking forward to watching

I know, I was just saying... Other Internationally well known pilots like Tareq.

It's more annoying to actually hear that the automatic places that were meant to be given to those top 8 last year didn't get a place this year at all.. Makes you wonder why huh?

Nothing to do with time limits , they were surely not all late getting the entries in? i know Jack was on time.

it sounds like the only ones to answer the question then is the ones running the comp

it's sad to hear that you and the rest of the brits didn't get a chance

I've been sat here thinking about this and I gotta say I am a bit ****ed off for Mattie.

Anyone that knows him will know how hard he has been practicing and looking forward to competing in this event. Not only would he have made a pretty decent showing of himself competition wise, he is one of the guys that's really supported the Zone since last year.

If you can't stick up for your mates in the hobby, what can you do!

So.... sorry guys but whatever your reasons I would be much happier to see you re-think.

I feel as though as I have thoroughly been kicked between the legs. As has been said I managed to finish in the final 8 last year which 'should' have qualified me, and a few other uk pilots, as seeded entrants.. But no. I have put so much work this year into my music and actually putting together routines to the music which I have edited. I feel like all of my time here at uni that I have sacrificed for sim time and music editing has been a complete waste of time.. As for entry time, me and Squeeky Pete entered as soon as the applications opened, were the international pilots that keen on entering?? I doubt it. People in the uk would attend the event to support their uk pilots!!

              No uk pilots... No support

It was the Judges that choose the top 24 pilots be it uk or international, so Stu or Adie had nothing to do with the final 24.
Zone was always an international comp, just last year there were low international entries as it was so new no one knew what to expect, but the entries this year was alot more.
Remember guys it is IN the uk, thats what the masters is not, thats the point, bringing the top talet to the uk that we lost when masters left.
I for one even though i was rejected am fully in support, zone is a supperb competetion format, and crowd pleasing, so guys just step back abit and re-look at what the comp is about.
Heh by the reaction of some just shows how popular it is maybe we can purswade the guys to do 2 a year, one international and one uk only, now that would be cool

I too am pretty gutted, but being realistic non of us are in the top 24 pilots in the world which is what zone has always been about trying to get.
I guess they needed to make a decision on of they grow slowly by letting their current supporter's enter, or grow fast internationally by allowing the best pilots worldwide to take those places.
It will be a difficult decision for them I'm sure - but they must be doing something right to get the international popularity they have.
Roll on Weston Park. More details on that soon.

While I tend to agree, I think the real kick in the nuts is being told that the top 8 from last year are guaranteed a place only to now be told they aren't in, that's just not a fair way of doing things at all...
