  • Zone 2011 Full Results

I have got together the full results from zone. I have only done it quickly in excel I will produce the results nicer and upload to our website in time but for now I wanted to at least show the full results. I know a lot of the pilot's are interested to know how they scored in each flight.

    Thanks

You can see above it is judges on technical, variety, innovation, excitment and precision. We do not reveal which judge was which to avoid confrontation and kissing asses ect

It is slightly different to the usual competition concept of 5 judges judgeing every aspect of a flight. These 5 different criteria represent each of the 5 judges. So for example:

Judge 1 Technical, watches the 2 pilots fly against eachother and awards his 1 point to whom he thinks has flown his criteria (technical) the best in that round. It means that the 5 judges are not looking for millions of different things in a flight but can focus on their individual criteria. Personally I think this gives very accurate results. Mix this in with judgeing pilots 1v1 within 10 minutes the judges can compare pilot's very accuratly.

I hope that explains it a bit better.

          Thanks

Yes that helps a lot I expected to see scores rather than crosses.
            Thanks for clearing that up.

The scores are in the middle between their names? Here is an updated version attached which shows the judges better at the top above each criteria. Each judge is above his criteria, sorry it was not clear.

Paul You were in a very very tough group it does not reflect how you flew in the competition at all. Only by being at the event can you truely compare the pilot's and I believe you deffinatly held your own in a very strong group with your flying. I think the local boys both had tough draws James Moon also had a very tough group with Adam and Charlie! Maybe the draw may favour you guys better next year Although saying that there were no easy groups.. Things are not easy in the Zone!

I called for Paul in one of his rounds and he flew great. Nerves are to be expected but he settled in and put on a really good flight. I enjoyed his music too. Well done Paul.
