I would just like to say a few thanks on behalf of myself and Adie. I have been scanning through the forum and reading all of the amazing comments there are far too many to reply to, we are so happy to hear of everybodys enjoyment.
I would firstly like to thank the 24 pilots who competed and made the Zone Format come to life. Everyone showed a great commitment to the hobby in entering an un proven format and I have huge respect to everyone 1 of the 24 pilots for giving it a go.
I would like to mention and thank our 5 judges Peter Roper, Jamie Cole, Giuseppe Robertone, Roger Price and Adie Smith they done a great job and really took on the roles of judging their individual criteria. Also a mention to Nigel Frazer Ker for his support at the event he was supposed to be one of our judges but unfortunatly had a back problem at the event just before the competition was about to start we hope he is well and fully recovered ASAP.
I would like to thank Craig Simmons our co organiser and also our team of helpers behind the scene who kept things running super smooth throughout the weekend.
I really do hope everyone has enjoyed the event and have sent out requests to each pilot for feedback so we can build on what has happened in 2011 to make the event even bigger for 2012! We are here to listen and want to make sure the event is enjoyable for everyone.
We have full event coverage from RCheliresource which is on the way, this will include one of their famous trailer videos so keep a look out for yourselves in the video if you attended the event. The trailer can be expected to be released within the next couple of weeks. Derrick has been working very closely with us to help explain the new format as best we can and try to tell the story of Zone 2011.
Finaly congratulations to Duncan Osbourn for becoming the Zone Champion. I can tell you he did not have it easy as some may think. I can tell you Steffan Simmons was only marginaly beaten by Duncan in the Semi Final and the judges literally just managed to seperate Duncan and Sebastian in the final with only 1 point in it! Duncan was however the deserved winner and I can personally say I have never seen Duncan fly so well in the 6 years I have been in this hobby. He really pulled out all the stops in the final and I cant wait for some videos to start emerging to show everyone just how excellent everyone flew.
Thanks to everybody who came and supported Zone 2011 we look forward to seeing you in 2012!
