  • UK F3N Team

Well, it is now done - we held the UK F3N Team Trials at the Gumley AHA event today, alongside the F3C boys. It was a great day and seemed to be well enjoyed by all.

The UK F3N Team will comprise:

    Duncan Osbourn
    Stuart Mott
    Rob Turnbull
    Dave Fisher (Reserve)

    Thanks for a great day!

On a personal note, I'm very pleased with my result today and look forward to the competition in Germany next year! (Fingers crossed ) representing the UK!

    Cheers,
    Rob

Well done Rob! Great team there.

Tim. You're right about Pete. His night flight at the 3D Champs was awesome!

Very well done to all. I was watching Duncan fly yesterday afternoon in readiness for the trials today and his freestyle was off the hook, I've never seen him fly so aggressively, he must really have wanted this one. Duncan Osbourn lays down smack, it's official I saw it with my very own eyes

Unlucky to those who didn't make the team but it's superb that we have an official UK team to take on the ROW. Well done to the organisers for making it happen

As a non-3Der, and with a reasonably uneducated eye in such things, I have to say that Duncan just flew like he meant it and was clearly the best pilot there today. I was chatting with Roger Mayo while watching Duncan's freestyle round, and he summed up his flying style pretty nicely - he said something like "Duncan's flying through all the moves all the time in every orientation, he's at no time waiting to catch up what the heli is doing and is never out of position." It was a well deserved win. Well done to everyone involved. Dave's flying was noticeably different to the others in the sets - much slower, more time for the judges to see what was going on, but still managing the same moves as everyone else. More than one way to crack an egg I suppose.

I expected there to be a pretty big turn out for this event. It's your chance to represent your country at your chosen discipline, and to only see 5 entrants was a shame. I know there are a lot of very competent 3D flyers who frequent this forum, and I was realistically expecting to see at least 20 in the mix. Mind you, would have made for a very long day!

Care to mention the noise test results Rob?
