Right Blimey where do i start.
Ron has done most of the thanks already, beat me to it but a big thanks to, SWRCH crew, Ron the master of sorting the pilots out, Dan for Standing down the line all day, Rich for being parking boss, Ross and Mark for being tea runners and emergancy heli rescue team (tree and hedge), My darling Wife nicky, love you very much, the judges freezing there ass off all day under blankets, all the demo pilots, the sponsors, Phoenix aviation, the visitors and last but not least the competators, with out you there would be no event.
Myself on a personnal note, i am just so happy right now, the event passed virtually trouble free bar the odd heli recovery, sorry for the 3 that crashed.
The standard of flying was so high, and i could see that many pilots really enjoyed themselfs.
Both my sons, Ashley and Harry, i am so proud of them, both in there first competetion, Ashley only really been flying 6 months, and Harry could only hover at christmas, Harry was well chuffed not to come last, Ashley a bit disapointed he didnt quite make it in to the top free, but after chilling he is happy to be in the top 5.
Felt really sorry for Sam, as me Sam, Ashley and Harry have flown alot together of recent, and i was so sorry he made a mistake in the final, but to still come in the top 5 is hell of an acheivement.
I also really enjoyed my banter on the mic, winding up many people in the process (couldnt resist)
Hopefully i will see a load of you tomorrow.

Thanks all for a great day...some really good flying done by all the pilots it was my 1st comp and I amazed I did not crash within the first few moments...it was nice too see my mate Tye take part he did really well...see you again soon I hope....

What a Great Day Out !!!
This is only the second Grassroots that I have been to, spectator at MK last June.
I was just going to be driver for Rocket Ronnie & John Watts, it was not until about 8.30 this morning just after arriving that I had a word with James about being a late entrant... well the guy's had been trying to convince me to enter on the way down...
Didn't have a clue what set moves to do and as for the free flight,,,, I didn't think I could fly about for 3mins and make it look entertaining...
Matt Lodge did say that there would be extra points for flying around the Big Oak Tree that Rocket smacked his 550 in to....
so I went for broke... I couldn't lose,, crash the heli = Cheer.. make it around the tree = Cheer, I made it around the tree with my night fly 500..
What a Buzz being out on the field competing...
Today has really opened my eyes to heli flying , I have been doing the same old thing for the past 2 years with out progressing,,
My goal now is to learn all of the set moves & enter the next comp that I can...

As previously said a Big Thank you to James, Ron and all the gang at SWRCH, what a great event, I'll be attending again...

I just wanted to say thanks to the SWRCH team , Ron ,James, nicky, dan , caterers , pete the very nice man who runs pheonix aviation , etc for a very well organised event that ran like clockwork :-)

I also have a big thanks to joe bailey and Peter foulkes , who steeped in despite the fact that they were competing to help when a lean run instantly turned my 105 os in to a blob of scrap :-(
they changed my motor for the one out of my Rave Env and did everything they could to help !

a test flight , engine set up by rob Turnbull , gave another scared moment or too , for poor Rob when he quickly found out I had a broken power lead , I have no idea how you land a heli that's got no v bar ! But thankfully he did it !
a swift connector change by Pete ( the man who runs pheonix) got me back in to the comp but with frozen hands and shattered nerves I totally fluffed my sets ( I HATE sets !!!!!!!) Tenth place my result.

i really wanted to do well and the pressure form comments made about my eligibility to enter didn't help either !
But those who know me no I am no quitter !!!
So I gave everything I had in the freestyle , an awesome fourth place and a really nice comment from mattie made my day,....
sadly I was just outside the top five fly off so my day was done, however my best job wasn't done calling !
my friend Pete ,( pulsar) made it through in fact in his first ever comp with my persuasion to enter he ws first place on the first run through he was so shocked he almosed Shead a tear !

the fly off saw him drop a place to the awesome talent that is Aaron Cole , only 11 and so nice and grounded ! One very proud dad ! I guess.

My last thanks is to the judges , they actually went blue and I will resist boosting a pic of Pete and matt sharing the same blanket ! Thanks guys for your time and effort ! You rock !!!

Please if anyone thinks they fancy a go at the comp scene ,..... Do it ! It will be the best think you ever do !
