SWRCH Grassroots NEW 2013 date, all go on 23-24th Feb

If you can do any of the set moves them you are good enough to enter, even if you consider a nose in 10 sec hovver - it isn't easy when you know people are watching and you are being scored on it. But pull it off nicely, and you will score well for it, and be in with a fighting chance of doing well and getting your first comp under your belt.

Remember - EVERYONE there knows how hard a heli is to fly, and to put yourself out there is a major achievement and you will deserve the trophy you get just for entering.

You may worry about freestyle, but if you can do a loop, flip, circuit lazy 8, then you are good to go for freestyle too.
Flip on the spot without loosing hight - good score. Nice neat loop - same.

Nice slow controlled circuit - points

Nice level lazy 8 more points.
Stall turns with nice level fly past at a controlled speed - more points.... It's only 3 min... You will soon fill it.

Even though I can't reenter due to work, I came on so much practicing for the dec date , I still feel like I won something

And don't forget - you will get to fly in front of some of the guys that you see competing and judging in masters events .... You won't get to do that in many other sports !!!!!

2 weeks to go, hope you are trying your best to practise, there are still a few places left if anyone is interested.
Right as for prizes i will give everyone the heads up.
1st: 2 x opti ultra 5000mah 6S lipos, £30 align-trex voucher, £30 Midland helicopters voucher and £25 RC hero Voucher.
2nd: 2 x opti 30c 5000mah 6S lipos, £20 align-trex voucher, £20 Midland helicopters voucher and £20 RC hero Voucher.
3rd: 2 x opti 30c 5000mah 6S lipos, £15 align-trex voucher, £15 Midland helicopters voucher and £10 RC hero Voucher.

Also as a new addition we will have a new catorgory, that will be judged by the organisers, and that is best crash, that will will a box of opti fuel 30% ULV, if we are crash free, it will be for the best near miss/save.

I am yet to check about night flying that someone has asked about, but i know Pete at Phoenix wants to do a night display himself on saturday eve so i would think that we could have at least a couple of hours of play time.

Just one thing to note, flying at phoenix on friday is likely to be very restricted if not a complete non event as Phoenix have comercial UAV pilots training, you are quite welcome to still come, camp etc on friday, but there will be little chance to actually fly, there might be an hour or 2 later in the day that you might be able to, but as phoenix is a buisness that has to come first, any spare time on saturday and on sunday hopefully all day will be a fun fly, we also hope to maybe have some extra fun comps on sunday if there is time, like speed runs and 60 second hover that there will be some extra prizes for

I can't make it

I am rubbish at most things, but knowing I was going to enter grassroots, I spent a lot of time practicing a move I really wanted to nail for a long time - piro circuits. Now I'm told I'm too good to enter lol.
There are a few people I consider to be far better flyers than me that are entering - there are even people entering that have done grassroots and other, higher level comps, but hey ho - I guess this is just what happens sometimes. Shame because my limits are around confidence in front of others - something that I won't get to work on now.

I had a really good time over the 'rained out' attempt earlier - and met some great people. Have a good one guys

Anyways, I have decided to spend next week in the French Alps to console myself
