Grant just an observation, entry to Weston Park event for 1 day which is all I can manage is £25 for a family of 4. If you are getting anything from the entry fee wouldn't you be better matching it rather than sticking with £30. I would rather it went to you than the organisers of the main event.

Any results guys, heard Rune clocked 159.8 mph on the Speed Faifa!
Hi John,
What a weekend, I am totally shattered, I can confirm the most accurate and fastest reading we got was 127mph. There were some early readings of more but it turned out the timing was out. I was suspicious 159 was quick and asked Grant to have the 200m measured again. It turned out it was the software which was as fault. It was fixed for the final run and that was probably the fastest run too because we tweaked it as we went along.
What we should win is an award for is the quietest 127mph! It barely makes a whisper at that speed, amazing. I expected a decent amount of noise and she just shushed across the sky causing even more deception that it was a lower speed.
The only other machine to run in the end was a standard TDR which ran 101mph. Ben Varley withdrew due to the flying site, he had concerns about the trees and I respect his decision to not run as it is easy to just get carried away with the challenge and run anyway. Sam Tse had a practice run with the Dune but he was really uncomfortable orientating the 600 sized machine at that distance and decided not to run. I was told the week prior 2 speed machines had been crashed and not fixed in time and Bansey's machine he planned to run just wasn't ready.
We really enjoyed trying to get the best from the machine in such a short period, the 1st proper flight the machine had ever had was at the event itself and we had to keep tweaking things for every new flight.
Many thanks to Rune Nessen for coming from Norway to pilot the machine, what a cool guy he is, totally unphased by any pressure and a really smooth flyer, showing his F3C heritage. He was a pleasure to work with.
I asked Bert Kammerer where the Goblin speed was and he said they only had so much space, but he accepted the challenge of the speed runs for next year......no pressure then.
Well done to Grant, carry on like this each year and we'll be sharing hair styles before long.
Thanks to Dani Rose for randomly turning up and helping us set up.
Respect to Andy Hinton, what a generous guy.
Thanks to the midland crew for the hand in dropping my marquee on Sunday, my stamina was failing along with the sunlight. Trev has had my back from the start, top bloke.
Thanks to the little girl who wanted to walk our dog all day, a relative of heli harry maybe?
Thanks to Raj of align-trex and Anthony Oxslade for assistance with the speed timings and the man on the laptop I believe is called Nick?
Nice to put faces to the names of our customers we only see online. I hope we met your expectations when bringing your machines in for tinkering.
Ok early night in my own bed.
It was tough but them trees at both ends of the flight line (not the one I crashed into lol ) were making it too risky. When going very fast like over 140mph any movement on the cyclic can have dramatic effects and I have always been advised to reduce pitch BEFORE pulling out of run so if on a very fast run and its heading to the trees a bloody quick decision is needed to either abandon the run or go for it and as you said, its so easy to get carried away there was just no chance I was going to risk it Im afraid. Doing the test run confirmed it for me and after speaking with a few people and Andy I did decide to pull out as my test run was very slow and still all I could think about was them 2 mahoosive trees lol.
Respect to the guys that did run but I have spent to much time, effort and money to have it go in to a tree. Fair enough if I crash it during a run but not when its something that i could have avoided. I was gutted but I made the right call at the time imo
That FAIFA is soooo quiet I could not believe it myself. Very impressive and Runes flying was sweet.
We need an event with a long enough flight line 500m at least clear will be perfect then we can do it as per the FAI guidelines.
Ben we can re run it at RCHA flyin!! A kinda un-offical RCHA version! My raptor gets a stink on so ill have a go at it! Just an idea??
Some say my left nipple is the shape of a Raptor canopy.......... And that for fun I chase sheep in wellies 3 sizes too big. All I know is I am 3D Clod Very proud to be a Presenter on ROTORS! The RC Helicopter show
Sweet. According to my logging the farthest away I go is around 350m from memory at ground level from me as it records point zero where its turned on so that is plenty as I really do not need to go that far just I use that distance to practice straight line speed over a longer course than the 200m
